Memorandum from Steve Lonegan on COAH bill in New Jersey Senate

Memorandum
TO: All concerned taxpayers

FROM: Steven Lonegan, State Director, Americans for Prosperity NJ

Re: Exposing the HOAX of Senate Bill One

Reference: The truth about Senate Bill One (1), hereafter referred to as S1. This bill falsely represents itself to abolish the radical Council on Affordable Housing a.k.a COAH.

The following excerpts from S1 debunk the claim that this legislation "abolishes" COAH. S1 actually creates a super bureaucracy that concentrates even more power and money with the State Planning Commission, hereafter referred to as the "Commission."

Bergen County Freeholders meeting

Rob Hermansen: So meeting tonight was interesting. Eveything seemed to be moving along rather smoothly until I stated that I still did not get the budget line item for line item. Well, all hell broke loose, accusing me of being a showman that this was planned and I waited right until the end on purpose. Well, all I wanted was a budget. I have come to find what I want does not exist. So my goal is to make sure it will for next year.

Study: Wealthy leaving NJ, sinking tax revenue

NEWARK — Wealthy people are moving out of New Jersey. A study by the Center on Wealth and Philanthropy at Boston College was commissioned by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

While other studies have examined migration of people with high incomes, this is the first to look at wealth.

It finds that between 1998 and 2003, there was a net gain in state wealth of $98 billion. Between 2004 and 2008, there was a net loss of $70 billion due to the affluent moving away.

Is this a political masturbation?

Connie Wagner: The State Commission of Investigation recommended it and I agree: Every municipal and county worker should contribute to their health benefits. State Workers have since 2007 and it's far past time for other government workers to catch up.

SEIU fatcats behind First Lady’s anti-obesity campaign by Michelle Malkin

My column looks beyond the obsequious and superficial headlines about First Lady Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity campaign — and shows you which left-wing forces are driving her aggressive public policy initiative (so aggressive, as I noted the other day, that she paraded her poor daughters’ body mass index in public for the cause).

Remember: Big Government programs “for the children” are never about the children.

Why I'm speaking at Tea Party convention by Sarah Palin

Later this week I'll head to Nashville, where I'll have the honor of speaking with members of the Tea Party movement. I look forward to meeting many Americans who share a commitment to limited government, common sense and personal responsibility. This movement is truly a grassroots, organic effort. It's not a top-down organization; it's a ground-up call to action that already has both political parties rethinking the way they do business.

Freeholder Rob Hermansen on the first month on the Freeholder Board in Bergen County

So I am almost 1 month into my new role as Freeholder for Bergen County and here are some of my thoughts. I am thankfull for all the support I am getting at the Freeholder meetings. Please keep showing up especially to the work sessions. Our next work session is @ 5 pm this Wed. and then our public session will occur at 7:30 later that evening. The spending is not stopping, neither is their ignoring of our requests.

Freeholder Rob Hermansen on the Freeholder Board in Bergen County

I have now asked for the budget since Dec. before being sworn in and have asked for the budget since I got there. I was surprised to see our former Freeholders in the paper last week almost 3 weeks after we were sworn in. It does not surprise me how they do things after seeing how bids are given out and what they expect our taxpayers to pay for is ridiculous.

Obamacare = Stray Dog, So Says President by Sarah Palin

What am I missing, folks? We’re called obstructionists and made to feel uninformed in the Obamacare debate as we point out this is not a patient-driven, market-oriented approach to health care cost challenges. We’ve been saying for months that this is government takeover of our personal choices of insurers and doctors. We’re called liars when claiming that this is all about government mandates and control of up to a sixth of our economy.

Wojciech Siemaszkiewicz commented on President Obama State of the Union address.

I have not seen such a boring speech for a long time. What happened to “hope and change” President? There was no inspiration in this speech at all. These were empty words without any reflection in the reality we live in.

The time for this President to act has passed a long time ago. The time for this President to make a decision on what to do has gone by him while he was deliberating if he should make a decision or not about making decision.

What a pity this President turned out to be.
