No tuition breaks for illegal immigrants

Today’s Record in its Opinion section published excerpts from several letters responding to Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle's defense of her bill allowing illegal immigrants who graduate from New Jersey high schools to pay in-state tuition at New Jersey state colleges. This is the full text of a letter sent to the Record by Wojciech Siemaszkiewicz, a Republican candidate for Assembly in District 37.

My advice to President Obama, my advice to Gov. Corzine

As a matter of fact this is my advice to President Obama, my advice to Gov. Corzine, my advice to Gov. Paterson and anybody else who is looking for the light out of this financial collapse.

It is no secret that this financial collapse was caused by the plain greed. What is more important, it was caused by the uncontrollable greed by our Masters of the Universe from Wall Street and our financial wizards who populated the Wall Street, banking industry, and financial industry with a particular concentration in mortgage lending process.

Will Gov. Corzine raise our taxes now?

The State of New Jersey has a budget deficit for this fiscal year of about $2.1 billion as reported today by the New York Times' New Jersey section. There is more bad news for taxpayers in New Jersey. There is tax revenue shortfall that will only deepen as we go into this fiscal year and prepare the next year budget.

Surprising picture of incompetence that is building up around Obama's presidency

Does President Obama understand the economy?

Caterpillar CEO Contradicts Obama On Jobs. President Obama was in Peoria, IL, yesterday to promote his economic stimulus package. The story was covered by national media outlets, but it got second billing to Sen. Judd Gregg's decision to withdraw his nomination to lead the Commerce Department. The Journal Star (Central Illinois) reports that in Peoria, "Obama cited Caterpillar Inc.

Media reactions to Sen. Judd Gregg

Gregg Announcement Casts White House In Bad Light GOP Sen. Judd Gregg yesterday withdrew from consideration for the post of Commerce Secretary. USA Today notes Gregg cited "irresolvable conflicts" with President Obama over "the economic stimulus and 2010 census." The Union Leader. reports that "in a news conference with New Hampshire reporters, Gregg emphasized his fiscal conservative philosophy. 'This was more of a question of just being me,' he said. 'For 30 years I've basically run my own shop and made my own decisions.'"

Another blunder by Gov. Corzine

Today’s Star Ledger reported that the state Division of Pensions and Benefits has been conducting an audit of public employees and the health care coverage for their dependents. Apparently, the state estimates that the number of ineligible dependents could be from 10,000 to 15,000 with costs estimated at $150 million over 5 years.

President Nancy Pelosi and Vice-President Harry Reid

I thought that the elected President of these United States was Barack Obama. It ain’t so. The unelected President has been House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with unelected Vice-President Sen. Harry Reid. They both have worked on the Stimulus Plan that has been touted as the 'Obama' Stimulus Plan. They both reconciled the differences in the conference yesterday.

A New Age of Corruption

A comment from the WSJ blog Washington Wire:

Is the Obama administration on the way to being the most corrupt ever? Despite having run on a claim of clean, transparent government President Obama’s personnel decisions smell more of Chicago politics than of open government. Consider the roll call thus far.

Warning to Baby Boomers!

Submitted by Carolee Adams - Montvale

One of the five youngest Presidents in the history of the United States has quietly solved the nagging question how Generations X and Y will be able to subsidize Social Security and Medicare for 78 Million about to retire Baby Boomers. By new federal government standardized "cost effective" measures and another gargantuan bureaucracy set up within the Obama/Reid/Pelosi/RINO Stimulus Plan, if senior citizens become a might too sick and old to make it cost effective to treat them, well, they'll just have to suffer the pain and die!
