Submitted by Editor on Tue, 04/27/2010 - 19:58Yesterday we learned that another “ethics” complaint that was filed against Governor Palin was dismissed as baseless. (If you are counting, the Governor is 26-0-1 regarding such complaints or suits, with one still pending).
The Businessman vs. the Bureaucrat by Sarah Palin
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 04/26/2010 - 20:26In a year when Americans are desperate for job growth and frustrated with the reckless spending in Washington, the candidates running in the special election in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District epitomize the problem and the solution. It’s a race between a career Washington bureaucrat and a small business entrepreneur.

Submitted by Editor on Sat, 04/24/2010 - 19:36So last night was a very tough meeting. The county has announced the layoffs of 75 people. Many of those people attended the meeting and explained how there job would be eliminated even though their job was being paid for through grants. It was mentioned that our County Exec told us in Jan. that we were on firm fiscal ground. Now almost 4 months later Chairman Carroll told us we were in a Fiscal Crisis.

AP issues a correction - Correction: Christie Salaries story
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 04/21/2010 - 21:55TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - In an April 19 story about Gov. Chris Christie's payroll, The Associated Press reported erroneously that he is spending nearly $2 million more on salaries a year than did his predecessor, former Gov. Jon Corzine.
Treasury Department figures show the correct higher amount is about $440,000.
Because the AP had incomplete figures for all those on Corzine's payroll - some were paid by other departments but still worked for the governor - the AP also erroneously reported that twice as many people in Christie's office earn $100,000 or more than they did in Corzine's.

Submitted by Editor on Wed, 04/21/2010 - 21:15Jay Leno: "President Obama was here in LA last night and had afundraiser: $35,000 a couple. I was trying to figure this out. PresidentObama played golf for the 32nd time in his Presidency, sent more troops toIraq, wants more oil drilling, gave billions to Wall Street -- RushLimbaugh said he wanted a Republican president. You got one."
Is this a joke or what?

“Money express” in Bergen County and its budget for 2010.
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 04/19/2010 - 20:45The Record published an analysis of the Bergen County budget for 2010, which is $485 million. Despite the fact that it cuts 75 jobs and the open-space tax, it increases property taxes and is $6 million more than the previous budget for 2009. How could that be?
Mr. President, is a strong America a problem? by Sarah Palin
Submitted by Editor on Sun, 04/18/2010 - 17:47Asked this week about his faltering efforts to advance the Middle East peace process, President Obama did something remarkable. In front of some 47 foreign leaders and hundreds of reporters from all over the world, President Obama said that “whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.”
What is a community?
Submitted by Editor on Sun, 04/18/2010 - 17:44I attended the Mahwah Council meeting last night. I was completely offended by the remarks of one of our residents, he also happens to be the father of Councilman Allan Kidd who is running for re-election in May. Last night we were told that Mahwah's spending money on the Recreation program and Senior programs and other services, that these groups were special interest groups. Special interest groups!!! Are you kidding me?
